• Certification is valid for 10 years. Certified specialists may apply for recertification as early as 3 years prior to their certification expiration date.

    Recertification Deadlines

    • The recertification application deadline is January 31. 
      Please note: This represents a three-month extension of the application submission, eligibility, and payment deadlines due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. As applications are reviewed in order of submission, potential applicants are encouraged to apply prior to the deadline to expedite the application review process. An option for an initial partial payment of the application fee will also be available. The application extension and/or partial payment option is automatically extended to all recertification applicants. Prior approval is not required.

      Specialists can access their previous application here. Online PDP applicants also need to complete the Professional Development Portfolio Word forms (located below).

    • New Online Application

      New Online Application system for specialists whose certification expires in 2020, 2021, or 2022. Online PDP applicants also need to complete the Professional Development Portfolio Word forms (located below).

    • Professional Development Portfolio - Blank Forms (.docx)

      These forms will need to be completed offline and uploaded during the online application submission process and include a recertification checklist.
