Welcome to ABPTS

The American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) has certified 10,348 individuals who have demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and skills in physical therapy specialty areas.

Currently, the ABPTS offers board-certification in eight specialty areas of physical therapy: Cardiovascular and Pulmonary, Clinical Electrophysiology, Geriatrics, Neurology, Orthopaedics, Pediatrics, Sports, and Women's Health.

Application Deadlines

7/1/12 - Certification: Cardiovascular & Pulmonary, Clinical Electrophysiology, and Women's Health

7/31/12 - Certification: Geriatrics, Neurology, Orthopaedics, Pediatrics, and Sports

8/31/12 - Reapplication 

11/30/12 - Recertification 

Exam applicants will be notified of test results by mid June.

2012 Test Dates

The testing window for the 2012 examination is February 25 through March 10, 2012.

2013 Test Dates

The testing window for the 2013 examination is March 2 through March 16, 2013.
